Work is underway to add protective steel posts along the sidewalk on the Las Vegas Strip.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Clark County began locating underground utilities in front of the Mirage Tuesday morning, which is the first step in putting in the posts known as bollards.
Workers are expected to finish installing all 700 posts by New Year's Eve.
