Girl Arrested After Stabbing At High School In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a 14-year-old girl is under arrest after a stabbing that injured a classmate at a Las Vegas high school.

Clark County School District police Capt. Ken Young says the girl ran away from Clark High School but was found at a home Monday.

The 16-year-old victim was hospitalized with a wound to her torso and is expected to survive.

Clark High is located a few blocks west of the Las Vegas Strip and has about 3,200 students. It was locked down for about an hour and half after the afternoon stabbing.

It is one of more than 50 high schools in the nation's fifth-largest school district, which has with more than 320,000 students at more than 350 campuses.
