Ride share company Uber plans to roll out some changes for drivers today.
UberPOOL drivers will now earn an extra flat fare for every pick-up added to a trip. The move is meant to be an incentive for drivers who are hesitant to participate in the company’s carpooling option.
UberPOOL launched in Las Vegas last November, matching users who are headed to similar locations for a slightly cheaper fare shared with other riders.

Up until now, UberPOOL drivers were only paid for a single base fare, making the stops to pick up extra riders feel like more work with no pay. Th
ese policy changes are part of Uber’s “180 Days of Change” initiative that started in June which aims to build better relationships with its drivers.
