Nevada is considering a proposal to amp up its opposition to the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump.
A contract for nearly $1 million in legal services is up for a vote in the Nevada Attorney General’s office on Tuesday.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports this latest amendment will bring the total legal contract with a Virginia law firm up to $8.5 million through March 2018.

Governor Brian Sandoval is one of the three-panel members and has maintained the state’s opposition to the proposed site 100 miles northwest of Las Vegas.
Attorney General Adam Laxalt who also serves on the board has vowed to fight against the project as well.
