PUC Hears Arguments For NV Energy Rate Increase

At an open session held Monday night, the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada heard from advocates and opponents of NV Energy’s proposed increase in basic rates for customers.

The proposal would raise an average residential consumer’s rates by about $4 a month in its basic service charge.

State Consumer Advocate Ernest Figueroa said utility claims that the increase would have no impact on monthly bills were clearly inaccurate.  NV Energy filed for the increase in June.
