Polygamist Leader Lyle Jeffs Pleads Guilty In Fraud Case

Polygamist church leader Lyle Jeffs is expected to change his plea Wednesday to guilty on charges relating to a food stamp fraud case.

Jeffs is the lead defendant in what prosecutors have called a conspiracy by the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints to defraud the federal program.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports Jeffs has previously pleaded not guilty, but a change of plea hearing is scheduled today in federal court.
