LAS VEGAS (AP) — A southern Nevada school board approved a policy that's intended to identify and curb sexual misconduct as it sets rules for electronic communication between staff and students.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the policy approved on Thursday by the Clark County School Board prohibits staff from texting with individual students, and it requires volunteers with regular student contact to be fingerprinted and have background checks every five years.
The policy also requires employees and volunteers to immediately report any suspected sexual misconduct to police and child protective services.
