Legislature's Lawyers Say No Law Against Marijuana Lounges

Marijuana lounges and special marijuana events might soon be coming to the Las Vegas Valley since it was clarified over the weekend that they aren’t illegal.

A legal opinion released by the Legislative Counsel Bureau states nothing in Nevada law prevents a business from establishing a lounge or hosting a special event where recreational marijuana is used.

The Nevada Independent reports Democratic state Sen. Tick Segerblom requested the opinion, which offers more clarity on the matter.

Lawmakers failed to pass a bill last session that would have explicitly allowed marijuana lounges. Segerblom has vocally supported marijuana legislation, and said that lounges could be a major economic boost for the marijuana industry.
