Governor Brian Sandoval announced he will reconvene the Governor’s Opioid State Action Accountability Taskforce this week in an effort to stop prescription drug abuse.
The group will hear updates from state and federal agencies on how they are working on the issue.
The governor first convened this group in June 2016 as part of the Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Summit.

The taskforce meeting will be held September 25 and will hear presentations from the Attorney General’s office, Division of Public and Behavioral Health, UNR, and other federal law enforcement agencies.
Topics will include legislation, data collection, and substance abuse treatment.
