The City of Las Vegas wants motorists to be aware of changes coming to Main Street that will make the thoroughfare a one-way street.
The permanent change that will happen northbound from Las Vegas Boulevard to Charleston Boulevard will begin Friday night at 11:30 p.m. Traffic will flow northbound on Main and southbound on Commerce.
Construction along Main Street continues on the west side of the street, so traffic will be restricted to the east side until early 2018.
Eventually, construction will shift to the east side and traffic on the west until the project is completed in late 2018. All businesses will remain open during these times.
The projects are to create enhanced pedestrian safety, wider sidewalks, bike lanes and additional landscaping.
