British Man Arrested And Fined After Swimming Across Lake Mead At Hoover Dam

A British man has been fined for swimming across Lake Mead at the Hoover Dam while visiting Las Vegas for a bachelor party.

The Guardian reports 28-year-old Aaron Hughes is thought to be the first person to survive the swim and was told the only reason he escaped being dragged under was because nine of 10 hydro electric turbines were not in operation at the time.

Hughes is a forklift truck driver from north Wales and was arrested immediately after getting out of the water and fined $330.
