A large crowd turned up at the University of Nevada Reno yesterday to march and protest against hate and racism.
The Black Lives Matter March Against Hate rallied hundreds to march from the university to City Plaza in response to the recent racist-fueled attack in Charlottesville, Virginia.
In his welcoming speech to students on Friday, UNR president Marc Johnson reminded students about the university’s commitment to diversity and racial tolerance.

UNR came under scrutiny earlier this month when one of its students became the face of hate in the country after a photo of him at the white nationalist rally went viral. UNR welcomed students back to classes this morning.
