Nevada Firefighters Stop Wildfire From Reaching Structures

ELKO, Nev. (AP) — A Northern Nevada wildfire threatened houses in Spring Creek, but firefighters were able to prevent any structure damage.

The Elko County Sheriff's Office issued a voluntary evacuation notice on Tuesday for the threatened area.

John Pitts with the Elko County Fire Protection District said crews have stopped the progression of the fire but were still working on containment Wednesday morning. Pitts said Wednesday's threat will depend largely upon wind and other weather conditions.
