Hikers Discover Body Near St. George

Officials say hikers discovered a badly decomposed body in a remote area in southwest Utah.

Sgt. Dave Crouse says in a statement by the Washington County Sheriff's Office that the body was found in 'an advanced state of decomposition' on Saturday in the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve in St. George.

The body appears to be a male.

Crouse says Washington County search and rescue volunteers recovered the body but were not able to find any evidence of the person's identity.

According to Crouse, the person's cause of death is unknown, but as of now it does not appear to be suspicious.
