Former Las Vegas city councilman Bob Beers is planning a return to political life.
He told the Las Vegas Review-Journal Thursday he plans to run for state treasurer in the 2018 cycle.
Beers was on Las Vegas City Council until earlier this summer, when he lost his reelection bid to retired Air Force Col. Steve Seroka.

He is no stranger to Carson City, either, having served both in the state Assembly and Senate.
The position of treasurer is presumed to be an open race in 2018, as incumbent Republican Dan Schwartz hasn't said if he'll run for reelection.
He's hinted at a race for governor instead.
