Zion Nat Park To Re-Open Trail

Zion National Park plans to reopen a trail that’s been closed for the past 7 years, thanks to a $1 million dollar private grant.

The George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Foundation announced yesterday it awarded the grant to the National Park Foundation to make repairs and upgrades to the Middle Emerald Pools trail and to fund youth programs.

The trail was originally closed in 2010 due to a rockslide which destroyed much of the trail. The grant is expected to help with repairs and improvements, and help to reopen the trail by 2019.
