Small Fire Threatened Homes In St. George

A fire burned through a wash and threatened southeastern Utah homes Wednesday.

The City of St. George’s website reports officials suspect sparks from construction ignited the flames.  Firefighters were alerted to the fire running through the Paradise Canyon subdivision around 3 p.m.  The blaze was contained in about an hour with help from the Santa Clara Fire Department, the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands, the Bureau of Land Management and the U.S. Forest Service.

Officials say one home was damaged.
