LAS VEGAS (AP) — Federal prosecutors in Las Vegas are about to try again to prove that four men should spend decades in prison for stopping government agents at gunpoint from rounding up cattle near Cliven Bundy's ranch in April 2014.
Jury selection begins Monday for the retrial of four defendants whose cases weren't decided last April, when two other defendants were found guilty of some charges.
Defense attorneys say they expect prosecutors will pare down the case to try to focus only on the armed confrontation, not on constitutional and federal land policy issues.
Prosecutors aren't commenting.
Photos show each of the four defendants had assault-style weapons during the April 2014 standoff near Bunkerville, northeast of Las Vegas.
But that wasn't enough for jurors in the first trial. Most voted to acquit.
