Raiders Purpose Using UNLV To Solve Stadium Parking Problem

The Raiders might be looking to UNLV to solve some of its stadium parking issues.

The Las Vegas Sun reports the team recently submitted the first draft of a joint-use agreement to the university. The document outlines how the Raiders and UNLV football will share the $1.9 billion stadium starting in 2020.

In that draft, the Raiders ask UNLV to use nearly 80 acres of its land for game-day and event parking, including the Thomas and Mack Center lot and a 42-acre parcel near Tropicana Avenue and Koval Lane.

The Raiders propose no payment to the university for the use of the land beyond the revenue from parking fees. A study conducted last month on behalf of the Raiders showed the stadium site holds just 15 percent of the parking required by Clark County code for a 65,000-seat facility.
