Nevada Democrats Condemn President's Transgender Military Ban

Nevada’s democratic congressional delegation have condemned President Donald Trump’s ban on transgender Americans from serving in the military.

In a series of tweets Wednesday, the President said the U.S. military will not accept transgender troops into its ranks nor allow them to serve in any capacity, reversing a policy that began under the Obama administration.

It’s unclear how Trump’s tweets will affect the transgender troops who are already in the military.

Congresswoman Jacky Rosen said in a statement that the president’s decision is a discriminatory ban that goes against core American values and jeopardizes national security. Congresswoman Dina Titus and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto have issued similar statements.

Nevada’s Republican congressional delegation have not issued statements on the decision thus far.
