Democratic freshman Representatives Ruben Kihuen and Jacky Rosen have joined Nevada’s other congressional Democrats in saying they support the concept of a public option for health insurance.
The two addressed these sentiments in a joint Facebook Live town hall meeting yesterday. A government-run health insurance plan would provide an alternative to private insurance.
The Nevada Independent reportsthe town hall marked one of the first times that Kihuen or Rosen have expressed support for the concept of a public health option.

Senator Catherine Cortez Masto and Representative Dina Titus have both said they support the public option. Jacky Rosen is planning to challenge incumbent Republican Senator Dean Heller in 2018.
