New Development Plan For Badlands Golf Course Being Floated

A new plan has been released for the development of the shuttered Badlands Golf Course, which calls for a boutique hotel, more than 2,000 multi-family units and 65 homes spread across the 250-acre property.

Next week the Las Vegas Planning Commission will consider a comprehensive development plan for the controversial area near Queensridge. A number of Queensridge residents have fiercely opposed development there, causing previous planning commission and city council meetings on the development proposals to last into the night.

The commission convenes Tuesday night, just as votes are counted in the Ward 2 City Council race between Councilman Bob Beers and Steve Seroka, where the Badlands issue has remained a central issue. The issue has sparked lawsuits and prompted the creation of political action committees on both sides.
