There may be a legislative compromise reached Friday on net metering rates for Nevada’s solar-energy rooftop customers.
The Nevada Independent reports that an amendment to Assembly Bill 405 would keep reimbursement for rooftop solar customers, but reduce the rate. The new net metering rate would have four tiers, gradually dropping after the first 80 megawatts generated per customer.
The amendment would also allow rooftop solar customers to keep the net metering rates they originally signed up under for 20 years or more.
