With tourism flourishing in Las Vegas and McCcarran International Airport recording the busiest March ever, Nevada officials are saying the state is short on pilots.
Data from the Governor's Office of Economic Development shows the state needs about 200 pilots to keep up with demand. The shortage could be due to a wave of retirements and high demand for flights.
Certain restrictions also make hiring more difficult, such as pilots only being able to fly until they are 65 years old.

Pilots must also log 1,500 flight hours before they can work commercially. The number of hours had been 250, but was changed in 2013.
