Critics of an amended Assembly bill say it could put ride-sharing companies out of business in Nevada.
An amendment added to Senate Bill 226 would mandate considerably more insurance coverage for ride-sharing drivers and require drivers to get a permit from the Nevada Transportation Authority, according to the Nevada Independent.
Under the bill, the minimum insurance coverage would jump from $50,000 to $300,000.
