Bill Seeks To Delay CCSD Reorganization Plan

Nevada Democrats are sponsoring legislation to put off reorganizing the Clark County School District for a year.

According to the Nevada Independent, Assembly Bill 516 would delay the plan, which is supposed to take effect in the fall, by a year and decrease the amount the district gives to each school.

The measure also deletes a clause that requires the school district to take responsibility for custodial and maintenance services.

Under the reorganization plan, individual schools will be allowed to use a block of money the way the principal and a governing board made up of parents, teachers and staff see fit.
