Nevada senators have approved legislation to protect domestic workers. The Nevada Independent reports Senate Bill 232 sets out a “bill of rights” for housekeepers, nannies, chauffeurs and other household employees.
The measure, which now moves on to the Assembly, establishes requirements for employment agreements that address room-and-board pay deductions and overtime.
Another bill moving on to the Assembly is Senate Bill 86, which greenlights cursive handwriting classes for the state’s third graders. A previous iteration of the bill died in committee in the 2015 session.
