Nevada State Senator David Parks (D) - Dist. 7 and State Senator Ben Kieckhefer (R) - Dist. 16, have put forth a bill that would make doctor-assisted suicide legal in the state.
The Nevada Independent reports that currently patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness are permitted to decline life support or resuscitation.
Senate Bill 261 would allow doctors to prescribe a fatal dose of a controlled substance to a Nevada resident if that patient is 18 or older and has a terminal illness diagnosed by two or more doctors.

The patient would have to be considered competent and informed about the prognosis, and make three separate requests for the substance to end his or her life.
