Bill Would Allow Assistants, Trainees And Interns In Psychology To Get License

Legislation now advancing to the Nevada Assembly would enable assistants, trainees, and interns in the psychological field to obtain licensure with the Board of Psychological Examiners. 

The bill aims to help alieve the shortage of mental health professionals in Nevada.

The Nevada Independent reports Senate Bill 162 also allows for reimbursement of psychologists for the work of such employees in their practices.

Another measure, Senate Bill 164, would allow state school districts to lease school buses for events within their jurisdictions. The Assembly passed a comparable bill in 2015, but it did not make it to the Senate.
