Pyramid Lake Highway To Reopen

The Nevada Department of Transportation is opening Pyramid Lake Highway after completing the majority of flood damage repairs.

State Route 446 has been closed since flooding damaged much of the roadway, caving in one 50-foot section of the highway and washing out 10 other areas.

The highway is a main road for residents of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe reservation and is scheduled to re-open at 5 a.m. on Saturday, March 4.

Repair work on roadside shoulders will continue, and a section at the northern end of the highway remains limited to a single lane with traffic flaggers alternating directions of traffic.
