Elko Considering Relocating Planned Sports Complex

City officials are considering relocating a new northeastern Nevada sports complex over flooding concerns.

Elko Daily Free Press reports that the city council planned to vote on bidding for a sewer line for the sports complex Tuesday, but decided to postpone it to consider the potential flooding damage the stadium could undergo at its proposed location.

City officials say they don't have an alternative location in mind.

The City of Elko recently suffered about $600,000 worth of flooding damages. Although the project has had other delays, Mayor Chris Johnson says he does not want to get contractors involved just yet.
