Nevada senators introduced a new joint resolution Monday to try and get Congress to transfer public land back to the state.
The resolution, sponsored by Republicans in both houses, calls upon the federal government to give Nevada at least 7.2 million acres of land currently administered by the federal government by the end of 2019.
As Democrats control both houses of the Nevada Legislature, it's unclear how successful the resolution will be.
