Utah Voters Support Probe Into Trump's Business

A new poll shows an overwhelming majority of Utah voters want U.S. Representative Jason Chaffetz to investigate President-elect Donald Trump’s potential conflicts of interest.

The poll was conducted by the Salt Lake Tribune and the Hinckley Institute of Politics, and found that 65 percent of registered voters in the state support such a probe.

Chaffetz is the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, and has shown resistance to such an investigation.

The poll comes out amidst ongoing friction between Chaffetz and top federal ethics officials who have been critical of Trump’s handing of his business interest, including foreign ties to Russia.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported that Chaffetz would not comment on the new poll which was conducted earlier this month.
