Nye County Sheriff's Office Facing Multiple Harassment Suits

The Nye County Sheriff's Office is facing two lawsuits alleging sexual harassment.

The Pahrump Valley Times reports one current sergeant in the department alleges she was the victim of sexual harassment for many years while serving, as well as not receiving backup during certain calls while on duty.

She also alleges she was propositioned and groped while at work, among other things.

A second suit filed by a married couple formerly employed by the sheriff's department also alleges they were victims of harassment and a hostile workplace environment, having been screamed at by superiors.

The couple alleges nothing was done at a departmental level to address their concerns, and that they received different treatment after filing their complaints.
