LAS VEGAS (AP) — Clark County officials are opening a five-week period for high school students to apply online for nearly 100 paid summer internships through the Las Vegas-area Summer Business Institute program.
Beginning Tuesday applications must be submitted online through the county human resources office website at www.ClarkCountyNV.gov .
No paper applications will be distributed or accepted. The deadline is Feb. 10.
The program offers eight-week internships to sophomores, juniors or seniors in Clark County schools with a minimum 2.0 grade-point average.
More than 80 area businesses take part, in fields ranging from law and medicine to architecture and education.
Interns are paid $8.25 per hour to work eight-hour days Monday through Thursday from mid-June through mid-August.
On Fridays, they attend seminars and workshops on topics such as life skills and personal finance.
