Destination: Las Vegas, Raiders File for Relocation

Clark County Commission Chairman Steve Sisolak announced today the Oakland Raiders have officially filed the paperwork to relocate to Las Vegas.

This is the latest in a series of related efforts to relocate the NFL team to Las Vegas. Nevada lawmakers narrowly approved raising Las Vegas hotel room taxes by 0.88 percent in a special session of the Legislature in October.

Room tax revenue is expected to generate $750 million in bond revenue over the next 30 years, with the rest of the projected $1.9 billion cost covered by the Raiders and the family of Sheldon Adelson.

The Raiders still have to receive a two-thirds approval vote from the rest of the NFL owners.
