Adelson May No Longer Be Involved With Raiders' Relocation Bid

Talks at a recent NFL owners' meeting suggest the Oakland Raiders' efforts to move to Las Vegas may no longer include Sheldon Adelson.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal, which is owned by members of Adelson's family, reports the Raiders may forsake Adelson's pledge of $650 million to help construct the proposed stadium on the Las Vegas Strip where the Raiders would play.

Earlier reports from the meeting this week suggest Adelson may run afoul of league rules that prohibit owners and ownership groups from being involved with gaming.

That said, Adelson's relationship with the team would not involve any ownership stake.

If Adelson and the Raiders decide not to go forward together, it is unclear from where the $650 million he pledged would then come.

Reports suggest NFL owners would decide on any relocation plans for the Raiders in the spring.
