A study conducted by a Nye County geoscientist shows that a number of wells in the Pahrump Valley could go dry.
The Pahrump Valley Times reportsJohn Klenke presented the dry well study to the Nye County Water District Governing Board at its recent meeting.
He said the study was to observe geographic trends across the valley, and that it means many of the wells would need to be deepened.

There were nearly 10,000 wells included in the study. When looking at a results for 50 years with 10 feet submergence, 57 percent of the wells could go dry.
Officials said the information from this study will be used for physical infrastructure to stabilize water levels.
