NDOW Worried About Deer Hunting, Wasting

Animals that are hunted and being left to waste have become a problem for the Nevada Department of Wildlife this fall.

The agency reports a ninth mule deer was killed in Southern Nevada and left to waste east of Rose Valley.

NDOW does not believe the killing is tied to eight previous deer wasting cases reported earlier this year, but the agency says this killing would have higher penalties because the deer killed was big game.

Casey Morell is the coordinating producer of Nevada Public Radio's flagship broadcast State of Nevada and one of the station's midday newscast announcers. (He's also been interviewed by Jimmy Fallon, whatever that's worth.)
