UNR Apologizes For Profanity Written On Fremont Cannon

The University of Nevada Reno’s athletics program has issued an apology to the University of Nevada Las Vegas for an offensive phrase painted on a football trophy.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports after the Wolf Pack won Saturday in the Battle for the Fremont Cannon 45-to-10, UNR players spray-painted “F UNLV” on the trophy at Sam Boyd Stadium.

UNR athletics officials have apologized in an email to UNLV president Len Jessup, athletic director Tina Kunzer-Murphy and football coach Tony Sanchez.
