Union, CCSD In Contract Spat

A school administrators union in the Las Vegas area says officials have retaliated against the union because of its support for mandated district reorganization.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports that the Clark County Association of School Administrators and Professional-Technical Employees says district trustees have delayed negotiations with the administrators union while teachers and police unions have received favorable contracts. The union's Oct. 20 complaint, which was filed with the Employee-Management Relations Board, also says District D Trustee Kevin Child also threatened the group's executive director with physical violence.

Child said at an August school board meeting that the never threatened the director. He called the accusation completely false.

In a statement, the school district called the accusations of retaliation "unfounded" and cited budget constraints as hindering negotiations.
