The cost to turn the former Riviera hotel-casino site into space for the Las Vegas Convention Center is increasing.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports contractors have discovered more ground contamination than previously thought on the site, and cleaning it all up will cost an extra $1 million.
The contamination in question was in areas where the Riviera had diesel fuel tanks for storage.
