Power Outage At Paris Hotel-Casino Causes Evacuation

The Paris hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip was evacuated this morning due to a power outage.

The Las Vegas Sun reports power was disconnected around 9:45 a.m., stranding people in elevators and otherwise causing trouble.

Caesars officials said guests staying at the Paris were sent to Bally's and Planet Hollywood in the interim.

Just after 1:00 p.m., power had been turned back on in parts of the resort thanks to auxiliary power systems, but full power had not been restored.

Caesars said the outage was caused by a cut to the resort's main powerline from a contractor.
