Nevada Closing The Books On Election Results With Canvass

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada will close the book on this year's election results with a ceremony in Carson City on Tuesday.

State supreme court justices will meet in the capitol building for the official canvass, where they'll sign off on results that each county commission has already approved. Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske is also expected to give remarks.

The final results approved in the canvass usually have some slight changes from the early results posted online at the Secretary of State's election results website.

Nevada will also take another step to formalizing this month's election when its six members of the Electoral College meet Dec. 19 to vote for the president.

The six Democrats in the group are bound by law to vote for Hillary Clinton because she won Nevada's popular vote.
