Monorail Extension Delayed

Plans to extend the Las Vegas Monorail have hit a small snag.

The Las Vegas Sun reports the Clark County Planning Commission has delayed approving the proposal for at least two weeks.

It comes after officials from the Southern Nevada Water Authority wondered about how plans for the monorail's extension would impact water pipes.

The Clark County Commission gave its blessing Tuesday for the Las Vegas Monorail Company to begin raising money to take the monorail's southern terminus from the MGM Grand to Mandalay Bay.

Monorail operators think it would take a year and a half to build the extension.

They also don't think this delay will slow down the project.
