What To Expect From Project Neon Closures Starting Friday

Work for Project Neon begins in earnest on Friday night, causing some traffic headaches for Las Vegas drivers.

Starting at 10:00 p.m. Friday, a slew of connections between I-15 and U.S. 95 in both directions will be closed.

Southbound 15 traffic trying to get onto the 95 will exit on Lake Mead Boulevard and get to the 95 via Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Northbound 15 traffic heading onto the 95 will exit on Martin Luther King Boulevard before returning onto the 95.

U.S. 95 northbound traffic wanting to exit on Martin Luther King Boulevard will be diverted to Rancho Drive, where drivers can get on the 95 southbound to get back to Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Additionally, ramps from the 15 will be closed for exit in both directions at Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Northbound traffic will be diverted to Charleston Boulevard.

Southbound traffic will be directed to Lake Mead Boulevard.

This phase of Project Neon is supposed to wrap up by February.

NDOT says motorists going to Downtown Las Vegas will still be able to do so easily, as the 95 and the 15 will be open in both directions throughout construction.
