The Southern Nevada Health District announced Wednesday that the person who died was over the age of 65 and had been hospitalized.

The district's chief health officer, Dr. Joe Iser, says flu activity is mild at this point, but he recommends residents take preventative measures against the illness, including getting a flu vaccination.
