Sparks To Swear In New Fire Chief

SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Sparks will officially have a new fire chief this week.

Christopher Maples will be sworn into the position Monday afternoon in a badge pinning ceremony with Sparks officials.

Maples is replacing retiring Chief Tom Garrison.

Maples has been with Sparks Fire Department since November 1995 when he was hired as a firefighter.

He since has moved up the ranks including division chief in August 2013.
