Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval has appointed two new members to the state's Public Utilities Commission on the heels of its deal with NV Energy and rooftop solar companies to grandfather users into an older rate structure.
The Las Vegas Sun reports the two new members are not currently members of the commission.
Starting in October, Joe Reynolds and Leo Drozdoff will become two of the three commissioners on the PUC.
They replace David Noble and Alaina Burtenshaw.
Back in July, Sandoval said he would not re-appoint Noble to another term on the PUC after Noble helped spearhead the new rooftop solar rate structure.
The new appointees have ties to state government.
Reynolds currently serves as general counsel to Gov. Sandoval, and Drozdoff was the former director of the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
It is unclear what Noble will do next, but Burtenshaw will become the new chair of the Nevada Transportation Authority.
