Nye County Weighs Brothel Regulation Changes

Nye County is weighing changes to the way brothels are regulated.

The Pahrump Valley Times reports county commissioners will discuss a variety of reforms at next week's meeting.

Commissioners say the changes would make Nye County's prostitution codes stricter than those at the state level.

Some of them include increases in licensing fees, and changing the overall fee structure for brothels based on how many legal sex workers are employed.

So far, the potential changes have not received much criticism from brothel owners, the newspaper says.

County commissioners have given proprietors a chance to submit comments and potential revisions ahead of the meeting, but none has done so at this stage.
